Sealants

Protect Your Teeth With Sealants from Nucleo Dental

Although brushing and flossing are the best ways to keep your teeth clean and free from harm, there are options available that can help protect your teeth even more. Sealants are one such option. A sealant forms a thin, protective coating on top of your molar’s chewing surface.  Since you use your molars every day to chew food, they can benefit greatly from sealant. That extra protection will hold bacteria at bay, saving your molars from any cavities. Sealants should not substitute brushing and flossing but they do work together to create the cleanest, safest mouth possible.

Nucleo Dental is Ready to Help!

Unlike other dental procedures, sealant application is quick and painless. First, your dentist will clean and dry the teeth that will receive the sealant. Then, the dentist will place an acidic gel on your teeth in order to roughen up the smooth surface. This will allow the sealant to create a stronger bond with your tooth. Once the sealant is in place, your dentist will make use of a blue light that accelerates the sealant’s hardening process. Once that’s over, you’ll be good to go! Your teeth will be safe from early decay or any future damage. Sealants last for several years and won’t need to be reapplied until after a good amount of time has passed. During regular visits, however, your dentist will check the sealant’s status. If your dentist notices that anything is amiss, he will gladly apply sealant as needed.
