Dental Implants are artificial replacements of natural teeth. The first part of the implant is a titanium cylinder, which is introduced inside the mandibular bone just like normal teeth are. Process Evaluation The very first step is to examine the patient, which must be reasonably healthy and posses adecuate jaw bone density in order to accomodate the implant.
Implant Placement A small incision is made in the gum (similar to the one made to extract a tooth) in order to place the titanium implant. Local anesthesia is administered and after a few minutes the patient does not feel a thing.
Gum Preparation After 5 to 6 months the bone around the implant has fully mature and the implant is completely osteo-integrated. A pillar piece is positioned in place to help in the healing process. In some situations there's no need to wait that long and Doctors go a head and place the replacement tooth.
Shaping and Crown formation After several tooth models have been reshaped to match your normal bite, then the permanent crown gets send to the lab.
Assemble and final result The final step is to place the porcelain Crown in place leaving a natural feel and look, giving you the confidence and security to speak, eat and smile once again.

What are the advantages of Dental Implants?

How do I know if dental implants are right for me? 

Even though most dental implants bring comfort and confidence to most patients, they are not for everyone. The ideal patient has to be healthy and with enough jaw bone to be able to withstand the implants. In order for our staff to asses your situation a proper examination is necessary, bone density measurements, radiographies, oral models for further study and planning of a possible treatment.  

What are some disadvantages?

Monetarily speaking dental implants are a higher investment than conventional dentures or dental bridges. They even require a longer time investment as well, it could range from 3 to 9 months from the start until end of treatment. When comparing the length of time that dental implants could last, the investment can become more reasonable.  

What is the treatment procedure?

Treatment can vary depending on the kind of implant and the health status of the patient. Many patients can undergo dental implants in a regular Odontologic room, but many other procedures need to be performed in surgery room. Most dental implants may only need local anesthesia, others a general anesthesia may be needed for a more comfortable procedure. 
1-The first step is the dental implant installation in the maxillary region.  2-Next and after a period of 3 to 4 months rest, we place intermediary implants through the gum, which will hold the future prosthesis.
3-This last step is the firm and precise placement of the prosthesis over the intermediaries, placed in the second step.

Once the treatment is finalized, regular brushing, dental floss,  plaque control, and regular check up visits are imperative for the success of every dental implant.
